John Ferreira listed here, is my Grandfather. He worked in the Audit Department Nairobi and was active in the formative years of the G.I. at one time being Social Secretary until his untimely and early passing in 1920. His widow Graciosa raised their four sons: Patrick (East Africa Auditor), Fr. Germano Ferreira ( School Principal and teacher Kanpur, Allahabad), Gervasio (PWD Nbi) and John ( High/Supreme Court Kenya and Attorney General's Chambers Kenya). My father John the son of John, married Gloria. He too served the Goan Community with deep affection, and held several GI posts including President.
