Sydney, Australia: May 23: It is with the
heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing, very peacefully after a short
illness, of Joan Bertha Athaide, born April 1st 1922, wife of the late John
Joseph Athaide, mother of Jeanne (Leonard Fernandes), Rebecca (Tony Reg
D’Souza), late Roger, Edwin (Althea). Grandmother to Jonathan (Sharon), Aaron
(Miriam), Jolene (Andrew Marks), Donna (Peter Lavins), Nigel (Rosa), Darren and
Dean. Great grandmother to: Cole, Logan, Zara, Keira, Xavier, Sienna and
Isabelle. Beloved sister to Jenny De
Quadros (late Lenny), late Rita (late Jerry Britto) and the late Phyllis
Correya. Affectionate aunt to several
nephews and nieces. The funeral will take place at 11 am on Friday, May 26,
with the celebration of Holy Mass for the repose of her soul at St Paul the
Apostle Church, 44 Buckleys Road, Winston Hills followed by burial at Castlebrook
Memorial Gardens, Rouse Hill. The family is deeply indebted to Constitution
